I just bought all12 vizbig volumes for Christmas for myself after reading this series online, and the quality of the books vs online is incredible. The books look 10x better than the internet. This manga is my favorite of all time and I'm literally drooling with excitement. If your looking for a great story with character depth, action and beautiful artwork this series is for you.

Admittedly, this first volume is a bit slower than the others, but it sets up the origin story well and the artwork is amazing. Highly recommend.
Vagabond volume 26 is like reading an art book. It literally has very little talking in this one. After Musashi kills the two bosses, the 70 swordsmen go after him. The whole volume is about Musashi fighting them. There are gory drawings of the fights. The author really can draw. Beautiful artwork!

I literally finished the book in about 15 minutes because there was hardly any reading to do but to look (or admire) the drawings.

Look forward to the next volume as to what happens next...
Excellent period drama. Being a big fan of samurai series I must say this is one of the best. The main focus of the series isn't so much on the action, which is amazing, but on the inner dialogue and thoughts of the characters. This gives the series a visceral feeling to it which you really don't see as much in other series. Highly recommended and the Vizbig editions are a great deal. It's just a tad cumbersome holding the book when reading because of its weight.
This is the first manga I bought. I ordered(Volumes 1-6) Saturday, was delivered on Monday, and finished reading them by on Tuesday.
I'm back to order more.

You can get someone hooked on manga, after reading this one. This one copy would make an surprisingly excellent gift to any action movie fan-plenty of action, humor, and grit. Just tell them how to read it.

For someone new to this series
The artwork is very good. It's not like a normal manga/comic. There is soo much attention to detail in each cell.
The story is very good as well, I will not spoil it anymore than 's description or other reviewers have.
It is not a material you want for a younger or immature audience.
This is an excellent introduction to the Vagabond series. You get the first 3 volumes of the series at a price a good bit less than all three individually.

There are LOTs more pages than the product info says but I was unable to find any good websites to verify a change. There are, however, a few youtube videos you can look up just by typing this products name in it's engine which will show you it's significantly bigger than the info would have you believe.

I did a rough count and counted about 700 pages give or take 10 pages.
This 3-in1 volume monster of a book is very well presented, perhaps the best quality trade paperback for an omnibus manga you will currently buy. I own Naruto (soon to be Bleach and it's practically the same quality), Until Death Do Us Part and Lone Wolf & Cub omnibus mangas... all of these are pale in comparion to this VizBig Edition manga! When this book came in the mail it was a little heavy but upon opening the package I understood and immediately accepted the fact that I will do everything in my power to own all of these volumes. You will get your money's worth.

Everyone else wrote accurate enough reviews on the story of Vagabond I would recommend reading those. I wanted to share my experience on actually owning the book. Even if you own the previous volumes, I would find a way to own the omnibus edition for the additional features like additional colored pages.
Vagabond is an amazing series targeted at a slightly older audience than the usual manga series would cater to. There's some light nudity and a lot of gore when things get violent (that happens a lot) but every bit of it is wonderfully drawn and is not gratuitous. The nudity isn't for fanservice purposes, the gore isn't to be edgy. Everything has its purpose, and this series is already amazing. (I'm on VizBig vol. 3 right now)
