Second book in the series, and expands so much in the world of Hesed. Wonderful storytelling, great visuals of a cold, dangerous world. Our cast has a host of problems to work thru and there may even be a hint of adoration or love that is blossoming. The title, alone, doesn't make so much sense, but as you read it, and get into the heart of the story, it makes perfect sense and is quite fitting. I am trying to stay away from giving much plot, but the story was mesmerizing. Hard to put down, I just wanted to keep reading and see where it goes. Now that I'm done, I cannot wait for more of the story of the chosen and her watchman.

I was intrigued to continue this series after reading the first book in the series, but Lacy outdid herself on The Unexpected Chosen. I was captivated and involved while reading the entire book! I finished the book in two days because I couldn't put it down! Excited for book three!
Oh my goodness! I just finished The Unexpected Chosen. How can I wait for this talented author to write the next book? Lacy is a very gifted writer and I cannot wait to see where this story goes from here. The Watchmans Sentiment Chapter tugged at my heartstrings. Love love love the storyline.
I literally broke out in goosebumps, multiple times. I think, that in this book there is something that will speak to everyone in some way or another. You'll be reading this fiction when suddenly, and quite "unexpectedly", you'll see pieces of yourself reflecting back at you from its pages. You'll identify with the warmth, the longing, the heartbreak,... And in the end youre looking to the future wanting more.
Once again, I was captivated. The second book in this series was so addictive, I couldn't put it down. The Author, Lacy Marie takes her time to describe the new characters to us as the readers in order to weave them into your thoughts. One of my least favorite things about any book is to have a character introduced & you feel you just cant connect with them. In this second book MULTIPLE characters are brought in & it is as if you already knew them, you can picture their physical attributes, I was impressed & hungry to read more. There is so much depth in this 2nd book. I can't wait to have ALL my questions answered with book 3!!
Lacy Marie draws you into the Depths of Hesed through The Unexpected Chosen. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down! I loved escaping to this winter wonderland where unanticipated chaos is accompanied by a sense of security and comfort. I personally loved it as I found myself both laughing and crying multiple times throughout the story, but I also have found ways to professionally utilize this book series. One of the key components of my job is to mentor and care for high school students, which often involves walking through tough situations (past and present) in their lives. I’ve found that this book series provides a framework for beginning vulnerable conversation with adolescents to help with processing difficult circumstances. I highly recommend this to any youth services worker or parent who desires a unique platform to open the door for authentic conversation with adolescents.
