As a long-time avid fan of Curtiss Ann Matlock, I sat down with this book, a bowl of buttered popcorn, and a large sweet tea, anticipating entering the world of richly-drawn, sometimes-quirky characters who come alive due to Matlock's skill with the written word. It pains me to say this, but this book didn't provide that experience at all. Instead, the plot was painfully predictable, the conflicts both weak and cliched, and the characters not at all well-developed. In fact, one of the high-lights of the book, for me at least, was the brief description of the living quarters located in the rear portion of the 18-wheeler's cab! This is an okay *short* novel but certainly not typical (thank goodness) of Matlock.

Thoroughly likable and genuine characters in a story many women have lived and other women can relate to in a meaningful way very enjoyable read!
Although this book followed the general sequence for a romance novel it was well written with an inspirational twist that made it very easy to finish. I have read others from this author before and she is good.
A truck driver and a waitress and her kids, are thrown together for a road trip at Christmas. This is a very cute story, about strangers becoming a family, and keeping their faith in times of stress and need.
From the beginning this book hooked me. It was a wonderful. story of a protective single mom wanting to get home to make piece with her Dad at Christmas and the trucker friend who would take her got sick and asked his friend to take her and her children which he did unwillingly. This book is about their journey on I-40.
I have enjoyed many of Curtiss Ann Matlock's books. She keeps you wanting the story to not end. I highly recommend this short novel if you want to have an great read. You will love the main characters!
A Mother, with two children, trying to get to her childhood home via a big rig truck......only it's not her friend but another man. Christmas a nd snow delays. Excellent depth characters.
Another Christmas and Miracles story but I still couldn't put it down. You won't want to either. It will touch your heart and make you think twice about the next time you see a stranded traveler on the roadside. (NO - I would not stop! I am a 60 year old female BUT I WOULD note the mile marker or nearest exit and make a cell phone call to 911)
